Emparro HD: Perfectly Engineered to Demanding Ambient Conditions

Maintenance doesn’t necessarily enjoy climbing on a shifting crane in wind and weather to replace a defective power supply unit. Murrelektronik’s new Emparro HD switched power supply is the solution to this problem! The module is engineered for extremely harsh ambient conditions. Emparro HD assures a reliable supply of electricity with a long service life.

Emparro HD can be used in areas where power supply units may be installed in a control cabinet, but are still exposed to harsh environmental influences, for example on spreaders (lifting equipment for container handling), construction cranes and internal conveyor technology (intralogistics). Here the power supply units are often constantly in motion and are exposed to high induction voltages or tough weather, such as extreme temperatures and high humidity.

Emparro HD provides reliable power in these conditions:

  • The power supply withstands vibration and shock because it features a compact design and is fully potted. Instead of being installed on the DIN rail, it is fastened in the control cabinet with screws to better withstand vibration.
  • Emparro HD can handle overvoltage because it features robust components. It resists induction-voltages peaks and lightning strikes in closer proximity. In worst case scenarios, the internal device fuse trips. The fuse is located on the outside of the housing and can be replaced by hand. This means the device does not need to be opened or even sent in for repair.
  • Oversized leash terminals allow for quick locking, even when wearing gloves, and no tools are needed.
  • Emparro HD operates in extreme temperatures of -40 to +80 °C and with a high degree of efficiency. It’s high performance capacity emits very little heat, even at high temperatures.
  • The power supply has a high MTBF value of 1,000,000 hours, an indicator for the longevity of the device, which helps prevent downtimes. The switch mode power supply has diagnostic functions including an alarm contact and an LED status indicator on the device.
  • Emparro HD is already being used successfully in customer applications from Murrelektronik, putting it to the test. It operates at a voltage of 24 V and provides a rated current of 10 A.

    Electronic Dual Pressure Switches with display DPx 838x – configurable by NFC Smartphone App


    The parametrisation happens with ease and can be done very quick by NFC smartphone app and a few finger taps. The set of parameters in combination with a comprehensive set of options make the electronic pressure switches versatile devices for demanding applications. The DPC 8380 contains a ceramic measuring cell whereas the measuring principle of the DPS 8381 is based on the proven thin film on steel measuring cell.

    The new electronic pressure switches with display, DPC 8380 and DPS 8381, are an ideal combination of pressure switch and transmitter with a pressure display. The parameterisation like switch points, output functions, switching delay times and display modes is done by an operating menu according VDMA 24574-1 directly at the device or by NFC-Smartphone app (Android) and stored for future usage. The easy operation as well as the comprehensive set of options make the electronic pressure switches DPC 8380 and DPS 8381 a valuable pressure measuring and monitoring device for diverse applications where precision, reliability and longterm stability are demanded. The DPC 8380 is for instance deployed in machine tools, refrigeration, Water treatment or Process technology whereas the DPS 8381 is used in industrial applications, machine tools or hydraulics.

    The electronic pressure switches DPC 8380 and DPS 8381 with 0.5 % accuracy are available in pressure ranges of 0…2,5 bar to 0…600 bar (DPS 8381) and 0…1 bar to 0…100 bar with relative and absolute measuring (DPC 8380). Furthermore the DPS 8381 with the thin film on steel membrane has a 3-fold overpressure capability. Two switching outputs (PNP) are supplemented with an analogue output which can be set to current loop (mA) or voltage according to the system´s need. The measuring range can be adjusted in the range of 50 to 100% of the nominal range. Display and electrical connection are independently rotatable by 335°/343° whereby the orientation is easily accomplished even in difficult installation situations. The electrical connection M12x1 with 4- and 5-pole connector is available with the following pin configurations: 2x PNP and 1x analogue, 1x PNP and 1x analogue plus 2x PNP. In addition the electronic pressure switches DPC 8380 and DPS 8381 have a data logger whose sampling time is set via NFC-Smartphone app. The data can be analysed and exported by means of the NFC-Smartphone app.

    Magnetically or RFID-coded safety sensors provide contactless security for doors, hoods and flaps


    Many systems and machines require safety devices to prevent unauthorized access or intervention during operation. A simple light grid is in many cases not sufficient, for example to prevent the escape of noise, heat, dust, etc. from inside presses, robotic cells or injection molding equipment. Conversely, in the food and pharmaceutical industry, hygiene requires that systems must be protected from penetration by foreign bodies. Various doors, hoods or flaps offer a solution. Their position can now be reliably detected with a magnetically or RFID-coded, Ecolab-certified safety sensor from Contrinex. Since operation is contactless, the sensor is not subject to wear and maintenance intervals can therefore be longer. A magnetically coded system (Type 4 according to ISO 14119) not only makes the YSM sensor series immune to mutual influence from other devices, but also highly resistant to on-site tampering. In the RFID-coded version (YSR series), up to 30 sensors can be connected in series with just one relay or controller.

    With switching distances of 4 mm up to 18 mm, these magnetically coded sensors also work behind a stainless steel cover. This allows for very safe system design, e.g. with the mechanism covered, and easy cleaning of all open surfaces. In addition, the sensor system meets the requirements of IP6K9K, which means it is dustproof and watertight, even when exposed to cleaning at high pressure and with steam. This makes the safety sensors ideal for food and pharmaceutical applications. The RFID code of the YSR type can either be randomized or taught. External device monitoring (EDM) and a feedback signal are also available.
    With dimensions of 36 mm x 26 mm x 13 mm or 88 mm x 25 mm x 13 mm (L x W x H), the sensors are very compact and can be mounted both frontally and at a 90° angle. M12 plugs or PVC cables are available as connection variants.

    New Cable Entry System for Cables With Connectors – Tool-Free Assembled & Cost-Effective!


    With the new version of the compact, split cable entry system KEL-QUICK icotek releases a highly efficient and cost-effective possibility for pass-through of cables with or without connectors, conduits and pneumatic hoses. Since its original market launch in 2008, the KEL-QUICK series has been an integral part of the icotek product portfolio. Now the system has been completely redesigned, offering now an even higher stability, usability and a modern look. Furthermore, the KEL-QUICK is now also available as single row version.

    Wherever cables with or without connectors, conduits or pneumatic hoses have to be routed into machines, enclosures or control panels and sealed with IP54, the cable entry system KEL-QUICK is an outstanding alternative to cable glands. Especially for applications that do not necessarily require standard-compliant strain relief acc. to EN 62444, the KEL-QUICK is the perfect solution.
    Like for the old model, slit cable grommets of the QT series are used for routing lines with diameters of 1 – 15 mm within the new KEL-QUICK. In addition, there are multi-hole grommets for up to 4 lines per slot and special grommets e.g. for ASI cables. During assembly, make sure that the flat sides of the grommet face each other.

    After equipping the frame with the cables or hoses, the cover lid of the KEL-QUICK is simply snapped onto the frame. With correct selection and assembly of grommets and frames, the KEL-QUICK offers protection class IP54.
    The new KEL-QUICK is based on the design of the KEL-U / KEL-ER series, making it even more robust and easier to assemble / disassemble.
    The KEL-QUICK frames match exactly the cut-out dimensions for 24-, 16- and 10-pin standard industrial connectors. The KEL-QUICK-B matches cut-out dimensions of 36 × 46 mm. The single-row versions named KEL-QUICK-E are particularly suited for flat connectors (e.g. D-Sub). The small frame is ideal for applications with limited space.

    KEL-QUICK frames can either be simply snapped into the KEL-SNAP frame, which provides an integrated IP54 gasket (except KEL-QUICK-E), or screw mounted. A flat rubber gasket for screw mounting is included in the shipment.

    Small photoelectric M18 sensors with IO-Link; Reflex, through-beam and diffuse sensors with or without background suppression


    Many of today’s industries and applications rely on photoelectric sensor technology. Contactless operation and long sensing ranges are ideal for numerous automation tasks, including in the packaging industry. With an integral IO-Link interface, Contrinex sensors bridge the gap between production machines and the digital world for the future industrial Internet of Things (IoT).

    Small, flexible and easy to integrate into different machine environments: all these requirements are met by the new photoelectric sensors of Contrinex’s short M18 series.     Hold tight! Practical Retaining Clips for Murrelektronik Connectors

    The new and universal Murrelektronik retaining clips for M8 and M12 round plug connectors make fastening extremely easy in plants and machines.

    The compact retaining clips made of robust plastic can be used side-by-side in any number in a modular fashion. The modular feature allows numerous connectors to be secured next to one another. They replace cable ties which get the job done but are not nearly as practical as retaining clips in terms of installation and maintenance: retaining clips allow connectors to be disconnected and reconnected manually in one step without tools.

    The retaining clips are available in two sizes, one for classic M8 and M12 connectors and — with a somewhat larger-sized clip — for shielded M12 cables. The two version can be easily combined with each another.
    The brackets can be attached with screws or cable ties anywhere on machines and plants. An integrated radius allows them to be installed even on tubes.

    SOLARIX PLI 5000-48: One for all...


    The Allgäu-based electronics specialist Steca announces the launch of its Steca Solarix PLI, an all-in-one hybrid inverter equipped to handle any conceivable energy situation. It is the first all-in-one solution from Steca that adapts quickly and intelligently to the respective energy supply form – and at an unbeatable price.

    Innovative electronics company Steca is launching its Solarix PLI, a genuine “all-around” talent in the inverter product line. This all-in-one hybrid inverter supplies consumers with 230V AC, charges the battery with an integrated MPPT charge controller and, at the same time, can connect to a generator or the existing public grid.
    This means that solar energy, for example, can be the top- priority power supply. And if that isn’t enough, a generator can be started or the supply can 00be switched to the public grid. The battery can also be recharged simultaneously by either the generator or the grid. Given its very quick switch-over time of up to 10 ms and its flexible energy priority selection, the Solarix PLI also functions as an uninterruptible power supply.

    A true friend for any situation

    With its dual overload capacity, even the most difficult power consumers, such as large AC motors, can be started reliably. The maximum power point tracker in the integrated charge controller ensures that even in poor weather the maximum output is obtained from the PV modules. Also, a whole series of electronic protection functions, such as overload protection, reverse current protection at night and an acoustic alarm, offer absolute reliability in every situation.
    Last but not least, the price of the Solarix PLI 5000-48 hybrid inverter was purposefully estimated to be aggressive so that it would be accessible to as many users as possible. A lightweight at only 11.5 kilogram, it offers an unbeatable price-performance ratio.

    Reliable detection of transparent objects; Photoelectric sensor uses UV light


    When it comes to detecting transparent objects, the limits of conventional photoelectric sensors are soon apparent. Since clear glass or plastic absorb only a small amount of light, there is little difference between emitted and received light levels. As a result, switching signals may be unclear. Contamination by dust or moisture on the lens – unavoidable in many areas of application – can lead to counting errors. Until now, such problems have been mitigated through the use of complex algorithms in the controller or by constant fine adjustment. A new approach offers a solution.

    The Contrinex TRU-C23 photoelectric sensor is ideally suited for the presence control of transparent objects. Its patented technology uses UV light. Since transparent materials like plastic or glass absorb large amounts of polarized UV light, it is very easy to set the threshold at which the sensor switches. This makes commissioning much easier. The shape or thickness of the target has no influence on detection. In addition, sensor performance is unaffected by dirt, water drops or aging. Multiple switching for the same object is eliminated.
    The sensor system comprises an LED that emits polarized UV light and a reflector made of special materials suitable for UV. Overall, the sensor’s operating range is around 1000 mm. Special optics with autocollimation ensure reliable detection and no blind zone, even close to the sensor or through a small notch. The housing, which is only 30 x 20 x 10 mm, is compatible with the entire C23 series as well as comparable devices. The IO-Link interface also provides the important additional benefit of remote commissioning, diagnostics and parameterization as standard and at no extra cost. The sensor is Ecolab tested and approved, rated to IP67 and reliably withstands common industrial cleaning processes.

    Versatile family

    For applications requiring the detection of thicker or larger transparent objects, the C23 Transparent Standard can be the ideal solution. It operates with polarized, red light and has a maximum operating range up to 2500 mm. This new sensor provides a highly favorable price-performance ratio. Both versions will be presented to the public at SPS / IPC / Drives and will be available from early 2017 onwards. The entire C23 family of photoelectric sensors, which offers solutions for a wide variety of applications, can also be viewed at this exhibition. Typical fields of application for the two newest members of the family can be found in the food, pharmaceutical and packaging industries, for example when filling glass or plastic bottles, packing in plastic or when the detection of clear packaging film is required.

    Exact12 ATEX: Preventing Explosions


    Murrelektronik’s Exact12 ATEX distribution boxes are ideal for use in potentially explosive atmospheres of zones 2 (gas) and 22 (dust), such as those in powder coating, painting facilities, wood processing plants, and flour mills.

    The robust distribution boxes with four or eight slots (having two signals each) meet the relevant requirements of the ATEX EU Directive 2014/34/EU and are approved in compliance with the standards EN 60079-0/-15/-31. The distribution boxes have been tested with regard to temperature, impact, heating, and seal. The trunk cable is tightly connected. It is made of high-quality and halogen-free PUR and is available in a variety of lengths.
    The perfectly adapted and specially designed cage ensures clear visibility of all LEDs and nameplates and protects the distribution box.

    Real intelligence with an integral I/O link in Werma's signal towers


    WERMA is now able to offer an integrated I/O link in certain signal tower families.

    This feature offers the user many advantages and is the first internationally standardised IO link technology to enable communication with sensors and actuators.
    The two signal tower families KombiSIGN 40 and ClearSIGN not only provide a unique light picture but also ensure all-round 360° visibility thanks to the new OmniVIEW lens design. Both signal towers are compact and elegant in design and offer a high IP66 protection rating.     Miniature pressure switch with 19 mm wrench size


    The Swiss based Trafag extends their product portfolio with electronic pressure switches based on the successful miniature pressure transmitters NAT 8252 and NAH 8254.
    The types vary in the accuracy of 0.5% and 0.3%. The new extraordinary robust and reliable miniature pressure switches are a very compact solution for countless applications with rough conditions like pressure peaks, high temperatures or shock and vibration.

    The heart of the new electronic pressure switches NAT 8252 and NAH 8254 is Trafags very robust and extraordinary stable thin-film-on-steel sensing element, which remains accurate and reliable even under rough conditions due to the triple overpressure safety and the fully welded design. The electronic is based on the inhouse designed ASIC, an application specific microchip, which achieves optimal temperature compensation and linearization of the measurement over the wide operation temperature range of –40…+125°C.
    The miniature pressure switches NAT 8252 and NAH 8254 are available with 1 or 2 switching outputs (PNP). The maximum switching current of 400 mA in total of both outputs is tolerable within the temperature range of –40…+85°C. Over the entire temperature range of –40…+125°C, themaximum switching current is 200 mA in total of both outputs. The switching outputs include the functions hysteresis and window with the option normally open and normally closed. A delay time is provided for each switching output. For the 2nd switching output is a monitoring mode “Device Ready” available. In this mode the output changes the state if the device has successfully completed the start-up phase. In case of an error during operation the status will change back to the normal state.
    The standard electrical connection for electronic pressure switches according to VDMA 24574-1 is the built in M12x1 connector. The accuracy 0.5% as well as 0.3% with temperature compensation and linearization is available. The miniature pressure switches are readily available in the pressure ranges 0…2.5 to 0…600 bar. These options turn the electronic pressure switches NAT 8252 and NAH 8254 into a versatile device for applications like machine tools, refrigeration, process technologies or hydraulics.

    Reliable and service-free buffer module for 24V-systems


    The new capacitor buffer module UF40.241 is a supplementary device which can bridge voltage dip or loss for regulated DC 24V power supplies.
    The already successful 20A module is now also available for 40A applications.
    The UF40.241 can seamlessly bridge failures of the DC voltage supply system and can also extend the hold-up time after loss of the AC mains voltage.
    Depending on the output current the minimum hold-up time can be 160ms at 40A and goes up to several seconds at lower loads.
    Especially in regions with poor mains quality, the buffer module can help to uphold the supply voltage so process data can be saved and processes can be completed in a controlled manner.

    The buffer module is also suitable for applications where a short-term peak current is required that exceeds the current rating of the power supply unit.
    The UF40.241 can easily be added parallel to the load circuit at any given point and works autonomously in the background. The life span of the buffer modules is adapted from the life span of the power supplies.

    By using the cable entry plate KEL-DPZ 24 – you can insert up to 121 cables, hoses, optical fiber or cable strands with diameters 1.5 to 22 mm, strain relieved and sealed according to IP65/66/NEMA type 12 due to conical shape on back.     With the push-pull module of the MVK metal series and its MVP12 metal distribution box, Murrelektronik presents an attractive solution for automotive applications that, in the event of a failure, makes it possible to switch the IO-Link supply off safely in combination with a safety relay.

    The compact and robust MVK IO-Link master module is ideal not only for connecting digital sensors, actuators and, IO-Link devices (Class B) but also for integrating them into fieldbus systems based on PROFINET IRT and RT.

    Full Inox Chip-Immune inductive sensors: Immune to fragments of iron, aluminum, stainless steel, brass, copper or titanium


    Machines for turning, milling, drilling or grinding metal will inevitably generate abrasion debris. For inductive sensors, which by their nature detect metal objects, this debris presents a difficult challenge. When sensors are covered with lubricant containing metal chips, there is a risk that they will supply incorrect signals to the control system. For these applications, sensor specialist Contrinex now offers its Chip-Immune series of inductive sensors in M12, M18 or M30 housings for non-embeddable mounting. Even when covered with chips of iron, aluminum, stainless steel, brass, copper or titanium, they will reliably detect targets made of these metals. The sensor achieves this with a slightly modified form of the Condet® method, which operates on the basis of pulsed currents in the coil and uses returned inductive voltage as the useful signal. These sensors have a one-piece stainless steel housing with IP68 and IP69K protection rating and a wide operating temperature range from -25 to +85°C (-13 to +185°F). This makes them particularly suitable for use in the harsh environments of the machining industry. Depending on sensor diameter, operating distances of 3, 5 or 12 mm are available while repeatability ranges from 0.2 to 0.8 mm. The sensors operate at frequencies of 90, 200 or 400 Hz. In the PNP version, sensors also include an I/O-Link interface for communication with the rest of the system.

    In practice, the use of these new inductive sensors can save time, money and even help protect the environment. In metal-cutting operations with conventional inductive sensors, reliability is ensured by regularly spraying chips away with water. This is no longer necessary with the chip-immune range of inductive sensors.

    At the 20th Bjelovar international spring fair of agricultural mechanisation and wood work which took place from March 31st until April 2nd at the exhibition area in Gudovac, for the second year in a row We have presented Our products and the products of Our partners which We represent.
    Over the three days at the Fair, around five hundred exhibitors have presented themselves from fifteen different countries, which is a new record of the Bjelovar Fair. Educational lectures were held as have presentations of the latest advances in agriculture, economy and craftsmanship.

    Success Story: Transparency in Logistics - StockSAVER


    In order to provide manufacturing with exactly the right amount of material SCHMIDT Technology must have complete transparency of the amount of material held at any time in the FIFO racks. Only in this way can the replenishment process be optimised and excess stockholding minimised. The easy to install retro-fit StockSAVER system provided the answers. StockSAVER makes sure that FIFO shelves never run dry, solves all of the traditional Kanban problems and renders previously required safety stocks unnecessary.

    The search for more transparency

    A well organised Kanban system brings many advantages to the operation but in reality leads to a lack of clarity regarding stock levels held on the FIFO shelves. Is there enough stock in place for the orders on Hand?
    Do Kanban cards get lost or damaged? Does the milk-round actually collect them in a timely fashion? Questions like this often lead to increasing safety stocks held locally in order to avoid production coming to a grinding halt.
    These questions have also been concerning SCHMIDT Technology. The company manufacturing process calls for sub-components to be manufactured according to a defined production plan resulting in the assembly of the finished product – "we don’t manufacture parts for stock" comments Production Manager Ulrich Heck. "The question of whether there was too much or too little stock of components in was fundamental in establishing the degree of transparency in the logistics process."

    StockSAVER – the solution from WERMA

    Bins in the FIFO flow racks contain the refills which are awaiting the barrels coming in from the mould shop before being worked on further. Because there is no additional WIP stock it is important to have excellent transparency of the actual content of the FIFO flow racks to prevent too much or too little stock being held there and to allow the flow of production to run smoothly.
    "To begin with we started looking at an E-Kanban system," explains Steffen Moser, Lean Manager at SCHMIDT Technology. "However everybody involved with the process needs unequivocal transparency of the actual current status on the line" continues Moser. SCHMIDT Technology established contact with WERMA very early on and began to learn about the StockSAVER system. Sensors monitor the number of bins on the FIFO flow racks and transfer this data wirelessly to the StockSAVER software.
    StockSAVER offers a robust error-free system as it is no longer necessary to scan withdrawals of stock neither is there a danger of duplicate bookings being made nor are arithmetically calculated stock level errors possible. The intelligent monitoring of the stock levels on the flow racks ensure full transparency of stock and the automatic issue of replenishment orders safeguards against stock-outs or incorrect items being replenished.

    Test run with WERMA‘s StockSAVER

    SCHMIDT Technology fitted 17 shelves with three sensors per shelf and on one shelf installed 4 sensors. The sensors monitor the movement of the bins and transfer this data via the SmartBOX to the software wirelessly. In this way a digital version of the real-time status of the shelves is created which gives everybody a perfect overview of stock levels on the shelves In addition clear instructions are given automatically to Logistics and Planning on the replenishment requirements and priorities. Analyses and data export allow lasting improvement measures to be made to the process.
    Replenishment orders and lists are created not only by degree of urgency but also grouped together according to the type of material thus making picking and prepping an easier and less stressful process for staff. "Information on replenishment time, how often a shelf was emptied and replenished is information I simply didn’t have before," continues Lean Manager Steffen Moser "and even the pre-production software version we tested together with the hardware functioned perfectly without any kind of teething problems."

    Further applications planned for StockSAVER

    Schmidt Technology is already planning to use StockSAVER in another division of the company. "We can already see real advantages in using StockSAVER as a transport Kanban system compared with other alternatives we have looked at. The implementation was superb the system is so easy to use and easy to understand. Now that we can export and analyse data means that we can also act and not just react" concludes Steffen Moser.
    It is great that the data and analyses are so transparent and give us many points for further discussion and make lasting improvements to our processes" stresses Oliver Schmidt, Managing Director. "Thanks to StockSAVER we have been able to uncover lots of improvement potential and in the future will be able to reduce our production times and reduce the amount of stock in circulation whilst maintain the same level of component availability."

    Diode redundancy module increases supply reliability

    The new, cost-effective diode redundancy module (PIRD20.241) in the PIANO range from manufacturer PULS allows users to build reliable 1+1 or N+1 systems and ensure their operational reliability.

    The module can be used in either a 2x 10A or 1x 20A configuration, ensures safe decoupling of parallel connected power supplies and is quickly integrated into the system. The input voltage is permitted to be between 9V and 35V and power supplies with both constant current and hiccup overload behaviour are permissible.     The rotatable head of C44 inductive sensors allows them to be turned in five directions, providing maximum flexibility during installation. Tool-free mounting minimizes installation time and four LEDs indicate operating status. Connection is through an integral M12 connector.
    An extended operating temperature of -25 °C to +85 °C (-13 °F to +185 °F) and IP68/IP69K protection rating ensure reliable switching, even in harsh environments. Thanks to operating distances up to 40 mm, mechanical damage can be practically eliminated. The C44 is not only ideal for use in the automotive industry and conveyor systems, but also for outdoor applications such as port facilities or fairground rides.
    Moreover, C44 sensors are IO-Link-enabled as standard at no extra cost. The user decides whether to operate them in conventional or IO-Link mode. Since sensor and wiring remain identical in both cases, no additional costs are incurred for stock-keeping or validation.

    The system – simple yet clever

    WERMA’s SmartMONITOR consists of a receiver, wireless transmitters and a software package. The tried and tested robust system generates its own network for monitoring of machines and equipment and sits alongside tour own manufacturing process tools.  The integrated software package comes with integrated analytical and Report tools.
    The software is very easy to install and intuitive to use. The status condition of signal towers used in the monitoring process are displayed on a control station view and in other displays the user can analyse productivity, review fault conditions and thereby start to improve the efficiency of the equipment.
    The wireless transmitter unit is simply added to an existing WERMA signal tower stack and is used to monitor the status of or output of machines and equipment. Status changes and output generated are transmitted wirelessly to the receiver unit and from there on it is logged securely in an SQL databased on the Software.

    System recognised with an award

    The innovative machine and workstation monitoring system has been recognised with an award in the German “100 locations for Industry 4.0 in the State of Baden-Württemberg” competition. This competition, organised by the Baden-Württemberg Alliance for Industry 4.0, searched for innovative concepts from industry which linked success-fully value adding processes within a network. The jury evaluated not only the theoretical aspect of the concept, but also its practical application.
